Len and I had a fabulous weekend. Friday night we went for dinner at Laura and Derek's house in Westwood, just north of Peterborough. We met the new baby Quinn, gave him his toy. Derek's sister was there with her son Cain, what a sweetie, he's grown so big now! Also Len's old friend Jenn was there with her new husband George, and her daughter Emily. Another cute kid, she is about 6 years old. It was good company, good dinner. Derek cooked lasagna, mmmm yummy! All in all it was a "Carlsberg" night.Saturday started off quite slow. the plan was to get a reasonably early start, cram in most of our Christmas shopping, and relax that evening. Cain, however, had invited us to see him at the Peterborough Santa Claus parade so we were working on a time limit. The parade is very cool. It starts at 5:30 and most of the floats are all lit up with Christmas lights. It was alot of fun to watch the kids and their excitment. Not alot of shopping happening because we didn't get the early start we had intended. (suprised!?) We did manage to get some crucial items however.
The next day I had church, which was nice. The sermon was about our pace of life and missing the important things because not only are we caught up in the hurriedness of life, but also that we have rationalized our everyday life as more important. We often forget to listen for God, and wait patiently for Jesus. Some people think how mazing it would have been to live in Jesus' time and to have known him, but we forget we do live in his time and we do have the opportunity to know him.

Sunday afternoon Jamie and I took Jessie for some Wal-Mart therapy. Picked up some more Christmas items, hung out with the girls. Jamie got an excellent deal on a pair of leather shoes from Payless. Couldn't have asked for a better day. :)Our Sunday evening was not as planned, but everything worked out. Poor Ephraim got really sick Sunday afternoon, and Jamie and Jason had to take him up to emerg that night around 9:30. So Len and I stayed with Keyzia at their place. Keyzia had some trouble sleeping so we got in some cuddle time on the couch. Before they left both Jamie and Jason said she will probably get thirsty and want her "cuppa" sure enough she awoke and when I went in to check on her she groggily said, "Cuppa" in the most pathetic, little girl, just woke up voice. So cute. Poor Jamie and Jason didn't get home until around 2:30, apparently emerg was just packed. The doctor gave Ephraim some medicine, and apparently he's doing better already. So that was our wild and wooly weekend. It was not especially crafty....it was just busy!
