View Article  Almost there.....

So today, I'll be working on my last Tuesday for a long while. Of, course, like my first Tuesday/Wednesday combo I'm super tired. I was sleeping under pressure last night because Jamie took me to my first Women In the Word, which meant that I had to get up at a decent time and be ready for pickup.  Which always means I am unable to sleep properly. I was certainly tired enough though, Len said I fell asleep mid-sentence.
This week I've learned a few things about the last weeks of pregnancy. First of all that I've only got 6! ACK!!  I think the major reality check is that nobody asks me how far along am I, they all ask how much longer. Friday is the first day of October so I think when I see that on the calendar, I'll be a little more aware of how close this baby really is. We've started our prenatal classes. So those will be running for 6 weeks, once a week. And we attended a prenatal fair at the Holiday Inn on Monday as well. It was a major paper fest, every booth had tonnes of pamphlets and stuff for us. Have I ever mentioned how much Len hates it when I pick up flyers and pamphlets! My fellow swimmer friend Christie was there and we were the most pregnant woman in attendance. I think everyone else was still all fresh and glowy, and hadn't been exposed to the achy, tired, itchy, constipated sides of pregnancy yet.
The other major thing I learned this week, is that apparently I can only eat a smidgeon of what I used to eat before, which kinda sucks, because I constantly feel as though I haven't eaten all day. I've heard you gain alot in size in the last part of your pregnancy, but I also read that its not uncommon to actually lose weight. Well, no wonder, if I'm reduced to granola bars, and fruit etc. And of course, I can barely eat half the amount of ice cream that I used to! And thats just wrong!
So thats my day to day stuff, I have a tonne of weekend stuff to report. BABY SHOWERS! But of course, I can't report on those until I upload the pictures. Which I promise to do very shortly.
Wish me luck on the rest of the week!

Jamie's blog asked, "what kind of pie are you?"

find your inner PIE @ stvlive.com
I'm Apple Pie

Its funny though, I love apple pie but usually as a standby classic. I always check to see if pecan is available, or Ottermere blueberry pie! Kinda defines me fairly well though, I really am just a standard apple kind of girl but sometimes you'll see me in my funky polyester tops or pink hi-tops, I guess my version cherry or keylime. I guess I really am a "classic", popular and sweet!

Besides, who needs psychotherapy when you've got internet quizzes!

Len and I had a taste of fall this past weekend when we went to Ottermere for my grandparents 80th birthday party's. The air was cool, the mosquitoes left us alone, I wore my fleece most of Saturday. Upon our return to southern Ontario however, the temperature was soaring and most people were still decked out in shorts and tank tops.

I know its fall though. The kids have returned back to school. Trent started its year of classes this past Monday, I've even spotted quite a few trees where the leaves have turned. Tonite I have my first board meeting for the Schizophrenia society. It will be a time to catch up on projects which were ongoing throughout the summer, reasses our current directions and programs and start new endeavours. We are looking into the idea of a support group for "family" members and survivors who are relatively new to the whole lifestyle. Len and I personally feel this is an extremely important niche to fill. We are no longer in crisis, and we certainly have not been living with Schizophrenia for 20, 30, 40 years. I guess you could call us the "Gen X's". We fall between, we are younger, starting a family, trying to establish careers and sustainable employment. We would also love to move beyond our one bedroom apartment someday. These issues are certainly not exclusive to us alone, many young couples struggle with the same issues, but they are definitely complicated by mental illness. We want to prove to the world that we can succeed, we want to break down millions of stereotypes and we want to help others to do the same.

I think that is why fall is my favorite season. I have always more of a sense of renewal in fall. Fall isn't about winding down for winter, its about shedding our leaves, and starting new things.

I was at Jamie's house on Saturday resting, relaxing, so nice. Problem is I heard a Veggie Tale song for like two seconds and now this little tiny portion of the song is lodged in my head. Not only that, I don't even know the proper lyrics! and its not exactly the type of music my co-workers listen to so its not like they can help me out!

Well, a few more months I'll know all the lyrics, to all the songs! Like 'em or not!
