Yup, that's right. Four out of Five Trail Raders finished their races this weekend when we competed in Paul's Dirty Enduro,

BUT the 5th rode 47 km, and only quit after much persistence after a mechanical issue knocked him out.

So super cheers to us for finishing the grueling 15 km and cheers to Ross for his 47km. Fireworks, YAY!!!

And now for the official report. Keith placed 2nd, and finished in 50 minutes, not bad for a guy who didn't even train for the event!

I pulled in at 1hr and 54 mins - and looking back I am confident that I can shave that time down no problem for next year.

Amanda pulled in some 15 mins after me, (feel free to correct me) (and I'm hoping that either Her or Him  post some photos soon, cuz we didn't have our camera)

Len finished another 15 - 20 after that.

Our team raised $334 so combined with all the pledges, the race raised over $10,000, Proceeds from Paul's Dirty Enduro are donated to the Canadian Mental Health Associationin Paul Rush's memory. Paul was a family member and good friend of many of the volunteers.  He was also a kickin' mountainbiker who knew and loved the Ganaraska Forest.

This annual event is a tribute to our friend Paul who took his own life. It is our memorial to Paul's memory to help the CMHA raise funds to be used for suicide prevention and mental health issues in the community.

Our goal is to increase prevention and awareness about the tragedy of suicide. The money is used for CMHA programs including very important suicide prevention programs in Ontario Highschools.

The trails were demanding but everyone really enjoyed them. They had something to offer for all of us, alot of up and down, good speed, alot of sand, challenging technical parts, the course was well marked, and the volunteers looked after us really well. Despite, the physical and mental challenge of it all, it was alot of fun. For the first 6 km I rode mostly with Amanda and she was out there making friends, chit chatting and even as I pulled ahead, I could hear her funny laugh through the trees!

The camping turned out really well too, we stayed warm and dry in our tents at night and we had room to spread out and prepare the day of the race.  So if your at all interested in giving yourself a challenge I definitely encourage you to check it out, the Trail Raders can't wait for next year!!

Jamie and I have these imaginary friends sometimes that someone is alright in our books if we could be friends with them. The number one things is that they have to be normal. And by normal I mean, watch too much t.v, knit, crochet, and complain when housework gets in the way of said activities.  Normal is also saying stupid things about parenting before we had kids, retract it all after having kids, then make fun of the people who have no kids and tell us how to parent.
On this list is Reese Witherspoon, who bought a cream coloured couch with a baby in the house...but here's the catch, she knows how stupid that was! We would hang out with her.  She's normal
So with that in mind I had to post this link for the Sarcastic Journalist. I've read her blog for a while, she's funny, she's sarcastic, she tells it like it is.
Now if I only had a credit card I could order one of these for everyone I know. (cuz it seems everyone has poop-o-matics on order)
